Jon Olsson in Park City Photo by Steve Winter

When the opportunity to film with Jon arose this winter, MSP’s camera crews jumped at the opportunity. He was training with Dumont and Schiller at Breckenridge in December, working on some new tricks, and pretty much stomping everything. From that point on, we tried to have a camera on him every chance we had. Here’s his side of the story…

What was your favorite day of skiing last season?

Sessioning with Colby West in Stryn, Norway during June.

What was the coolest place you were able to ski this last season? Trip highlights?

Whistler BC, first day heli-skiing!

What was the most substantial thing you learned this last season?

How to use an avy beacon, and that Alaska offers some seriously bad weather.

What goals did you achieve last season and what are you hoping to achieve in the future?

My only goal with skiing is to be satisfied with the level that I am at, and I felt that I was happy with what I had accomplished this year, so I was stoked!

What song could be a soundtrack to your life? Or maybe even just a song you enjoy skiing to?

I love all sorts of different songs, but with all the gnarly stuff I did this year it would have to be a pretty intense song.

Who would you consider to be the biggest influence to your skiing and why?
TJ, just because I think his style rocks.

What is your favorite non-skiing activity? Explain why…

I love cars, cars, and fast cars.
