Marker has partnered with Gibson Guitar Corporation to produce a unique custom electric guitar. The guitar will be produced in Gibson’s Custom Shop in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Marker guitar is a Flying V model in Gold Bullion featuring Marker’s “Rule the Mountain” logo. The aggressive design of the Flying V fits well with Marker’s popularity in the youth & freeride binding markets. Marker is proud to be associated with Gibson in this effort. Their craftsmanship has long set the benchmark in quality; partnering with them on this special one-of-a-kind instrument is very exciting. Both Marker and Gibson are especially interested in helping this great cause.

The guitar will be on display at the SIA show in Denver, Colorado January 28-31, 2010. After being shown at SIA, the custom-built guitar will be sold to the highest bidder. Bidding starts via online auction on January 14 and ends on March 1, 2010 at 10 PM EST.

Proceeds from the custom-built Marker Flying V guitar auction will go to the family of Shane McConkey. The popular Big Mountain skier and ski industry icon was lost in a fatal accident this past March while filming in Italy. He will be greatly missed.
