The biggest smile and the dreadiest dreads on the mountain perpetually belong to Kaj Zackrisson. Known as the “Flying Squirrel” on the big-mountain freeskiing tour, this member of the notorious Swedish Posse has brought some more Swedish flair to Matchstick’s athlete roster. After one of the gnarliest falls / best recoveries of 2008, you’ll remember why this guy has the skills to hang with the best in the world.

What was your favorite trip of the ‘08 season?
We had a blast in Austria, sunshine every day and wienerschnitzel for lunch and hiking here and there was cool. Rubens is a funny guy to hang out with, and it was my first time skiing with Mike D. – that was also cool to see him spin cliffs.

Who are your skiing mentors?
My friends and my mom.

Do you feel gay when you knit beanies?

Gustav Wasa, Sweden’s first king.
