Bio
Q: Worst injury?
A: I broke my right leg pretty severely when I was 13 - tibia in two spots and fibula in one. Other than that I broke my collarbone pretty badly and have a metal plate, 9 screws and a pin that will stay in there forever. I’ve broken my wrists and fingers, ripped all the ligaments in my right ankle, broken my tailbone, had bone bruises on my femur and ribs and had numerous concussions and stuff…
Q: Who’s your favorite cinematographer to work with on the MSP crew?
A: I think I’m going to have to give this one to Dustin.
Q: Favorite possession you own that cost less than $5?
A: Most of the things that I own I’ve either gotten as gifts from people or from my sponsors or they’re things that I’ve paid for but they cost more than $5. The only thing that I really buy for less than $5 is candy.
Q: What’s the number one goal you want to achieve during your career as a pro skier?
A: I’d like to win the X Games for both halfpipe and slopestyle.
Q: A farmer had 17 sheep. All but 8 have died. How many sheep are still standing?
A: If there were 17 sheep and 11 passed away than there would be 8 sheep still alive and able to choose for themselves whether to stand or lay down.
Q: “If I was a pro athlete in any other sport, it would probably be…”
A: Skateboarding. At this point I don’t think that I could ever be good enough to be a pro skater, but I think it would be the coolest sport to be a pro in. You don’t really need to travel with anything, you can do it anywhere, and in my mind it’s the hardest, most-technical sport in the world along with golf.
Q: “The best day I spent on skis this season…”
A: The best day that I spent on skis this season was in Telluride in February. It was just a sunny day lapping the park and filming with two of my best friends Robin Macdonald and George Knowles!
Q: “The last movie I watched was…”
A: The most recent movie I watched was “Monster” with Charlize Theron.
Q: “__________________ is my favorite resort to ski in-bounds.”
A: Honestly, Telluride on a powder day is one of the most fun mountains that I’ve ever skied at.
Q: Who is the best skier the rest of the world has never heard of?
A: Hmmm… That nobody has ever heard of? I don’t know, I’d probably say Bobby’s brother Peter.
Q: “I don’t normally throw a shout-out to this person, but this one goes out to…”
A: Starbucks! Your strawberry banana smoothies are amazing, your staff is always friendly, professional, and efficient; every location has free wireless and I always feel like I get what I paid for. I know that it’s better for economy to support locally owned and operated businesses, but Starbucks is just so much more superior…
