Bio

Q: Favorite childhood memory?
A: Watching my best friend hit a huge natural step-down, overshoot it by nearly forty feet and crush himself in the flats.  As soon as he cleared the landing, I went full bore into the same jump, didn’t speed check at all, overshot the shit out the tranny and crushed myself in the flats the exact same way I witnessed about thirty seconds before.  I mean, what was I thinking!?!

Q: Worst injury?
A: Broken femur in 2002 and a blown knee in 2011

Q: How many GNAR points did you accrue last winter?
A: I probably acquired negative points from the berating of ‘pro call-outs’ I suffered through this past winter.  I tried to gain some back with a naked straight-line in Terrace, BC, but I’m still probably under for the year.

Q: Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather… who would win?
A: Bruce Lee.

Q: Who’s your favorite cinematographer to work with on the MSP crew?
A: Definitely not Gaffney. His homophobic jokes, weight insecurities and hair deficiencies are very off-putting.

Q: Favorite possession you own that costs less than $5?
A: Skis, boots, bindings, ski clothes, goggles, helmet and ski pass to Squaw.  Yeah I know none of that stuff costs less than five bucks, but it’s all free for me because I’m a super-pro, rockstar skier.

Q: What’s the number one goal you want to achieve during your career as a pro skier?
A: Perfectly stomp a one-hundred foot cliff.

Q: What is your favorite album of all time?
A: Metallica’s Black Album

Q: A farmer had 17 sheep.  All but 8 have died.  How many sheep are still standing?
A: Well it depends if the 8 alive are laying down cowering in fear from the corn-holing farmer or standing up cause they like it.

Q: “If I was a pro athlete in any other sport, it would probably be…”
A:  I suck at most other sports besides skiing so it’s hard to fathom being professional in any of them.

Q: “The best day I ever spent on skis…”
A:  As cheese dick as this sounds, just about everyday that I’m shredding with friends, skiing powder and taking air is the best day ever on skis.

Q: “I’m a better skier than __________________ because…”
A: I’m pretty much better than most of the mighty-mites. I mean there are some pretty insanely good 8 year olds out there but I’m gonna say that with my obtained experience, superior physique and impeccable technique, I could take most of them down in a contest.

Q: “The last movie I watched was…”
A:  “Somewhere”, the Sofia Coppola movie.  It sucked. It tried to be a super-realistic movie about fame and stardom but ended with the most unrealistic ending possible.

Q: What is your greatest accomplishment outside of skiing?
A: Graduating college in seven and a half years

Q: “__________________ is my favorite resort to ski in-bounds.”
A: Squaw Valley.  Best mountain on the planet.

Q: Who is the best skier the rest of the world has never heard of?
A: Greg Lindsey and George Hjelte.

Q: “I don’t normally throw a shout-out to this person, but this one goes out to…”
A: Bill Nye the Science Guy.  Thanks for all those years of making my mornings not only entertaining, but educational.
