Multiple-time IFSA big mountain freeskiing champ Hugo Harrisson has backed up his strong competitive performances with years of hard-charging film segments. Making an appearance this year in hot pursuit of James Bond, Hugo is stoked to get healthy and strong for a big comeback in ’08. Here’s a little bit of what he had to say:
What was your favorite day of skiing this last season?
My favorite day skiing was in the spring at the end of April – my knee was so-so all year, and finally by April it started to feel a lot better. We received a bit of snow and I went out snowmobile skiing with some friends – the conditions were perfect and it was the first time that I felt like I could actually charge, so I was pretty happy about it!
What was the coolest place you were able to ski this last season? Trip highlights?
I was in Alaska in March and I got very lucky with the snow. I had a very good day skiing fun lines – it's the second time I went to AK and had good conditions. It was epic!
What goals did you achieve last season and what are you hoping to achieve in the future?
My goal last season was to get back on my feet and ski as much as possible so I can be ready for next season. Right now I feel very good and can’t wait to charge again next year.
What is your favorite non-skiing activity? Explain why…
My favorite thing to do other than ski is surfing. I love the mountains but I also like the ocean, so it's the perfect mix for me.
