Powder Magazine’s only two-time “Male Skier of the Year” dedicated his entire winter to filming with MSP, and it shows. One of the most progressive and well-rounded skiers out there, he’s driving the future of the sport every time he goes out there.
What was your favorite day of skiing last season?
My last day in India was definitely the best day I had on snow. We put away the cameras and shredded run after run, slashing turns and spraying each other… meanwhile being chased down by a pack of wild dogs.
What was the coolest place you were able to ski this last season? Trip highlights?
India once again takes the cake. Aside from having a huge mountain with 4,000 ft. of vertical and sharing it with 20 other people, the highlights included: getting pulled around Delhi on a rickshaw, getting snowed in, being paddled around in a water taxi through the canals of Srinagar, and partying on our house boat.
What was the most substantial thing you learned this last season?
Although you may think you’ve got something in the bag and that it’s good enough, you can’t walk away from that goal until you know you’ve nailed it.
What song could be a soundtrack to your life? Or maybe even just a song you enjoy skiing to?
“Imagine all the people,” by John Lennon. Not a song that I would ski to, but definitely a song that speaks a message I respect.
Who would you consider to be the biggest influence to your skiing and why?
Seth Morrison has always been the skier that I looked up to the most. Aside from having a super fluid style, he’s a skier that can put it all on the line and goes for big tricks off of huge airs.
